If fast turnaround is a key requirement in the overhaul of your propeller, the exchange program offered by the Hartzell Service Center is the solution. The Hartzell Service Center offers a propeller exchange program on many designs, giving you an alternative to the down time normally experienced during the propeller overhaul process. The exchange program is perfect for both small and large operators who need to have their propellers overhauled and ready to fly, instead of unavailable at a propeller shop.

How The Hartzell Exchange Program Works.
The exchange program is very simple and effective. Upon receipt of an order, the Hartzell Service Center assembles a propeller(s) using parts from our extensive inventory. Parts selected for each assembly consist of both new and overhauled parts. After assembly, the exchange propeller is shipped, and/or delivered according to the customer’s schedule.

Upon delivery, the customer ships, or we pick-up the core propeller(s). After the return of the core propeller to the Service Center, it is overhauled, and upon acceptability, returned to stock. Invoicing is based upon the overhaul results of the returned core. It is common in the overhaul business to charge a premium for exchanges. However, the Hartzell Service Center offers exchange propellers at no additional charge. Since the price is based solely on the condition of the core, the cost of the overhaul is the same regardless of whether you use the exchange program or not. Exchange is a method by which the Hartzell Service Center can offer a quality product with zero downtime, while at the same time minimizing our customers spare inventory requirements.

Invoicing Process
Upon shipment of the customer order, the Hartzell Service Center invoices the exchange propeller at 75-85% of new propeller list price, depending on the combination of new and used parts used to assemble the propeller. The exchange invoice is not to be paid by the customer unless the customer decides that they wish to keep the exchange propeller and not return a core propeller. When the core propeller is returned, the original exchange invoice will be credited in full and new billing will be issued upon the completion of the overhaul on the core propeller. If a core propeller is returned, final invoicing is based on the result of the overhaul of the core propeller. Final invoicing is based on the quoted base rate, which includes all required expendable parts, and any additional parts such as blades, clamps, pistons, or slipring that are found unacceptable for return to inventory.

If no core propeller is returned, final invoicing will be based on the amount stated on the exchange invoice.

Terms
Credit terms are established on a per customer basis. If qualified, net terms are available. If net terms are not established, an up front core charge will be applied when using exchange. This core charge will then be applied to the actual cost of overhaul, and the difference will be returned to the customer.

Important Notes
Exchange is offered on most Hartzell Propeller models but not on all models.

Please note that TSN (Time Since New) is required on the core propeller(s) returned. If total time information is not available, you will be invoiced as if no core propeller had been returned.

The TSN of the components that make up the exchange propeller may have more total time than your propeller.

Our extensive inventory consists of many of the popular blades utilized by operators today.
