| Hartzell
Propeller Inc. designs, develops, tests, manufactures and supports constant-speed aluminum
and composite propeller systems for the aviation industry worldwide. Founded in 1917 to
work with the Wright Airplane Company in nearby Dayton, Hartzell currently supports more
than 250,000 propeller systems in service today. Current Products include 2,3,4,5, and
6-bladed propellers for aircraft ranging from 160 to 2,180 hp.

Combinations
Hartzell propellers are utilized on virtually
all of today's common powerplants. These include Lycoming and Continental as well as Pratt
& Whitney, Allied Signal, Allison, and many others. There are literally thousands of

Facilities and Equipment
Description
Hartzell has four facilities with a total of
250,000 square feet in the Piqua, Ohio area. The main headquarters houses management,
engineering, sales and product support as well as aluminum blade and all hub
manufacturing. A second facility houses testing. The third facility houses all composite
blade and spinner manufacturing. And the final plant, located at the Piqua Airport,
handles propeller service and repair and parts distribution. Aluminum and steel part
production is accomplished on CNC equipment. Proprietary oil-heated presses, autoclaves
and CNC fabric cutting systems are used in the composites manufacturing process. |
