Continuing a heritage of propellers "Built On Honor," Hartzell props are produced using an innovative blend of the latest processes and technologies, as well as the hands of experienced craftsmen. Hartzell manufactures efficiently in small lots through the use of highly efficient work cells, standardized machines, rapid changeover and quick setup capability, complete inventory and tool control. Hartzell’s manufacturing philosophy can be summarized as follows:

  • Application of common machining platforms wherever possible so processes can be more readily optimized and can be easily transferred throughout the shop.
  • Reliance on a small, carefully selected list of suppliers for technology support.
  • Maintenance of excellent in-house process prove-out capabilities that are representative of, but not disruptive to, the production environment.
  • Consistent application of the knowledge of the company’s skilled machinists and inspectors to the critical tasks of process development and continuous improvement.
