Many different design tools are available for the propeller designer to use in configuring a new propeller design. In addition to an extensive product history upon which to draw field service experience, we have many analytical tools available to us to help understand and improve upon our new designs. These tools consist of the following:

  • 2-D design using AutoCAD.
  • 3-D solid modeling using Pro-E equipped workstations.
  • Finite element structural analysis using ANSYS.
  • Aerodynamic analysis for airfoil section lift and drag data.
  • Propeller performance using an in-house proprietary code (other independently prepared codes are also available).
  • Near and far field noise analysis.
  • Icing analysis.
